Welcome, welcome!
I'm so glad you're here today. :)
Every year I like to create a few new items to add to our Christmas décor. After my helper elves and I unloaded all of our holiday loot, I surveyed what we had and decided to create some new wall art to jazz up an empty space. :)
This was seriously one of the easiest projects I've done in awhile! Even the most novice of crafters can handle this one... I promise! If you can operate a can of spray paint without harming anyone, you're golden. :)
You'll need:
12" paper mache J and Y
small grapevine wreath
red glitter spray paint
white gloss spray paint
holiday picks
coordinating ribbon
scissors
hot glue gun
Directions:
You're done! See, wasn't that way too easy? I'll admit, I was a little bit skeptical of using glitter spray paint, but it worked like a charm. My only complaint is that the can emptied very quickly. So, my advice would be to paint your object first in a matching base color and then go over it with the glitter spray.
And speaking of homes, since this post is such a simple one, I thought I'd treat you all to a little peek inside of our home decorated for Christmas. Our home is small, but cozy. Be prepared for picture over load! :)
Come on in!

I made two coffee filter wreaths years ago. They're hung year round in our house and for Christmas I simply pin a poinsettia on them to add a bit of holiday cheer. These wreaths are simply gorgeous! You can find the tutorial here. :)
Once you step inside, you're greeted by our tree and a Christmas vignette.
Hanging on the wall is the Advent Calendar that I made last year. The boys love picking off a tag everyday and seeing what our fun activity will be! We have everything from baking bread, to looking at Christmas lights, to helping those in need on our calendar. They love it! :)

Onto the tree! This is the first LIVE tree we've had since my oldest was born. I'm in love. :)
Usually we head back to Ohio for the holidays, so having a real tree wouldn't be a very good idea. I envision a mountain of brown pine needles strewn across our floor when we return... Yikes! But, this year, we're finally staying home (Yay!) and I insisted on buying a real tree. It's a Frasier fir and he's glorious! :)
I love looking at all of the ornaments every year as we place them on the tree. They bring back so many memories and smiles. The day I was taking pictures, our resident Elf, Jingle Bells, was hiding in the tree trying to eat a candy cane ornament. Those silly elves! (And in case you're wondering, yes, that IS a glittery pickle ornament in the bottom middle picture. It's a German thing.)
Our mantel is fairly simple. A.candle centerpiece I've had for years, faux wrapped presents, along with vinyl subway art and twine wrapped "pears" that I made last year. And, of course, our stockings! They're from Land's End. :)
I really love that simple, homemade projects can add such nice flair to holiday décor. The presents and Subway art are some of my favorite holiday decorations and they were so easy and inexpensive to create.
Here's the rest of the living room decorated for Christmas. (In case you can't tell, I kinda like white. A lot.) It's simple, pretty and I love the splashes of color around the room. I always smile when I walked into our home because this is the space I see first. So inviting and relaxing. :)

One of my favorite decorations is this little reindeer family. I found it last year at the Pottery Barn outlet. The two smaller reindeer aren't actually part of their collection, they're ornaments. But, I put them with the Mommy and Daddy instead of hanging them on the tree.

And, finally, one last collage before your mind explodes from picture overload! The Willow Tree Nativity is an item that I truly value. My Mom has given me pieces for it every year for Christmas for the past few years and I love how beautiful and simple it is. But, don't let the picture fool you- it's HUGE!
